Good day Mates! We had a very busy day in the Diocese of Wagga Wagga today! We started with a beautiful morning rosary outside, in front of an area dedicated to the Blessed Mother. And then we continued with our spiritual journey to Mass at St. Michael's Cathedral, where we joined together with parishioners of the Diocese and also finally met some travel buddies from Hong Kong and East Timor! The Mass was beautiful and two of our pilgrims participated by reading and carry the gifts, as you will see below! (I know parent's your gleaming with pride!) Actually most of our pilgrims are taking turns reading and serving at Mass either here at the school's chapel or as we move along in our journey. At Saturday's Mass we will even have some of our Pilgrims involved in the choir!!!!
After Mass we hopped on the bus and headed to Mater Dai Catholic College(high school here, and University is 'college') and met up with our fellow pilgrims from Hong Kong and East Timor where we had a BQ for lunch, and each pilgrim took time to share games and songs from their own homes! We shared, 'Our God is an Awesome God', Take me out to the Ball Park and some other favorites from home! After some recreation at the school, our pilgrims and the Hong Kong Pilgrims and the four from East Timor split in groups for service projects! Some went to the hospital to visit the sick, while others went to a retirement home and talked with the elderly, and the rest of us, we set up tables for dinner and then walked around Lake Albert and picked up litter. Which was a beautiful walk and also pretty clean, though we did do our share of litter pick up. Finally back to the college and ready for dinner, which was very tasty and actually was more Indian like then Australian. More games played by the pilgrims and a final bus pick up at 9pm to finally get us back and ready for some rest so we can start our day tomorrow!!!
All and all it was a wonderful and very blessed day, of sharing culture and making new friends. Oh and speaking of new friends, how could I forget to tell you all about the mayor! We met him too!!! The Diocese of Wagga Wagg shared some gifts with us, scarfs and kangaroo key chains! We were pretty excited as it has been a bit cold here. Well friends, that is all for now, we thank you as always for your prayers and please know that we remember you in all of ours! Parents we miss you, but we are having a blast, thanks for all your help getting us here!!!!! God Bless!

Dear All,
I lifted you up during my Adoration Hour today and will continue to offer up prayers and Masses during your pilgrimage. I enjoy reading the blog and seeing your pictures! My sister and her husband were in Australia a few weeks ago visiting his brother. They sent me pictures of the Cathedral and the banner proclaiming the countdown to WYD2008. Congratulations and many blessings to our beloved Bishop Rhoades on his anniversary. What a great way to celebrate! A special "shout out" to Betsy and Melissa Sutliff from you Saint Patrick family and friends :-)
Godspeed,
Mary Moll
